I was recently asked to appear on WBTV Charlotte news for a live cooking segment featuring this delicious and easy pack-n-go recipe that keeps health at the forefront. As a busy mom of 3 I really appreciate recipes that do not take up a lot of time to make and are also kid approved and healthy. These chicken skewers with creamy turmeric dip totally fit the bill and were a big hit on live TV!

During my live segment, I explained how to make this incredibly easy creamy turmeric dip to go along with chicken skewers. The chicken skewers I used for the TV segment were store-bought. I was able to find pre-made chicken kabobs and I used those.
However, when I make this at home, I purchase a package of chicken tenderloins, cut them into bite-sized pieces, season them with salt and pepper and thread them on a wooden kabob stick. Once I have them all ready to go, I put them on the grill and cook them to 165°F (that’s when chicken is cooked to safe eating standards).

During the segment, I shared why Protein is so important. Both the Paleo and Keto diets require high protein intake daily, which leaves you feeling more full thought the day…ultimately eating less of the junk food! High-protein snacks and meals allow for a fuller stomach, for longer periods of time.
Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory as well as a strong antioxidant. Turmeric is a herb that has been used in India for thousands of years and has very strong medicinal properties.

Keto-Friendly Chicken Skewers with Creamy Turmeric Dip
Equipment
- wooden skewer sticks
Ingredients
Chicken Skewers
- 1 lb chicken tenderloins cut into bite-sized pieces, alternatively: buy pre-made chicken skewers/kabobs
- 1 tbs extra virgin olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
Tumeric Dip
- 1 c plain low-fat yogurt or Greek yogurt
- 1 tbs low-fat milk
- 1 tbs lemon juice
- 1 1/2 tsp sugar use Stevia to make it Keto friendly
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
Chicken Skewers
- On a cutting board, cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces
- Place in a mixing bowl and coat with extra virgin olive oil and salt and pepper
- thread onto a wooden skewer and cook on grill until cooked all of the way through
Turmeric Dip
- Combine all of the dip ingredients in a bowl and mix
- Cover and store in the refrigerator until ready to use
