How To Make A Flower Deco Mesh Wreath with Dollar Tree Supplies
If you’re like me, you love a good wreath. They add a pop of color and personality to any door or wall, especially for the seasons and holidays! I love how a beautiful wreath makes such a big impact on my home’s decor. Almost every door on my house has a wreath!

While doing some research about what my blog shows up for on Google, I found out that my tutorials for using deco mesh rolls to make curly wreaths were extremely popular!

So, it got me thinking…I needed to make another wreath!
I headed to my local Dollar Tree and scanned their crafting supply sections, looking specifically for deco mesh, aka decorative mesh on the Dollar Tree package. While I hadn’t really planned out what color or style wreath I would make before looking at the craft supplies, I decided that to make a sunflower deco mesh wreath and incorporate a pre-made sign in the center.

Where To Find Wreath Supplies At Dollar Tree
Sometimes it can be a bit tricky to find everything you need to make a deco wreath from Dollar Tree. Because I’ve been making wreaths for so many years, I’ll share with you all of my secrets!
Holiday Section
Usually at the front of any Dollar Tree there is a section dedicated to the upcoming holiday or season. For the bigger holidays like Halloween, Christmas and Easter, there are typically craft supplies geared towards those holidays also in this holiday section.
This is where I found my yellow deco mesh for this sunflower wreath.

While Dollar Tree has a great selection of crafting supplies and materials, their supplies are a bit limited compared to a fully dedicated craft store like Hobby Lobby or Michaels. For example: the deco mesh from Dollar Tree is only 6″ wide, where many craft stores sell a 6″, 8″, 10″ and 12″ wide deco mesh. But that’s ok, you can still use Dollar Tree mesh for wreath making!
Floral Section
There are typically a few floral sections at Dollar Tree. One being on a wall up front. Two being a tall, vertical display near the sunglasses and registers. Three being in a section towards the back, typically by the picture frames. This is what I call the floral section.
Here you will find circular wire wreath forms, heart forms, 3D wire wreath balls, and even floral wire and floral tape for attaching decorations! (Be sure to check out my tutorial for How To Assemble A Dollar Tree 3D Wreath Form),

Household Tools/ Automotive Section
I know! You might be thinking I have a typo, but nope! I’m serious! In the automotive section, I buy small nylon cable ties (I call them zip ties), which are a great alternative to wire ties or second pipe cleaners when securing your wreath elements.

Alright, now that you know where to buy all of your wreath making supplies, let’s get this show on the road and make a wreath!

How To Make A Sunflower Decorative Mesh Wreath Video Tutorial
I went live in my DIY & Craft Inspiration and Support Facebook group (I would love to have you join!) and showed you how to make the wreath step-by-step. I recorded the tutorial, so you can watch the replay, pause and skip forward where you need! Make sure to check it out for quick, simple steps to recreate this look!
Cutting The Zip Ties
Once you have added all of the wreath petals, it’s time to flip the wreath over and cut off all of the zip tie tails.

Painting The Center Wreath Sign
I decided that I didn’t want my sign to say “Give Thanks” so I used my favorite paint, Dixie Belle paint, to give it a refresh! I used Serenity and Endless Shore to paint over the wording. This is my favorite wreath base for seasonal signs, as it allows for easy customization with different colors! I then used a Sharpie permanent marker to write by hand the word “Welcome”.

I’m really happy with how this sunflower wreath turned out! It’s the perfect wreath for the end of summer! I hung it on my back entrance door and it adds such a fun pop of cheer and color! Plus, the lightweight wire wreath frame makes it easy to hang and adjust. If you’re ordering supplies online, keep in mind that delivery time may vary.
