6 Cozy Fall Decorating Tips with Pumpkins
Six ways to add cozy fall decorations to your home! From faux pumpkins to floral arrangements to bales of hay.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…Fall is my favorite time of year! Hands down! I look forward to this time of year all year long!
When we lived in Georgia and South Carolina, I always missed the beautifully colored autumn leaves once the Fall months would set in. It wasn’t until we moved to North Carolina that we finally got those gorgeous colors on the trees along with the “cooler” temps.

Living in Wisconsin now, our big oak and maple trees in our yard have been changing colors since the end of August! I’m not even joking! When I cut the grass, I’m already blowing fallen leaves into a pile to mulch up!
September in Wisconsin is simply beautiful. The temperatures start to cool off (what they would be in October/November down South) and the sun has that gorgeous orange-y hue to it that just makes you so excited for what’s to come!
Rather than just enjoy Fall outside, I like to bring it inside as well! So, here are 5 of my tips for creating a cozy indoor fall space!
1. Floral Arrangement with Faux Pumpkins
Rather than decorate with the traditional flowers, make a beautiful floral arrangement using fall themed stems from your local craft store. Throw in a couple of sticks from your yard to give it an even fuller look!

3. Large Faux Pumpkins Mixed with Antique Crocks
Farmhouse decor screams old mixed with new. The whole essence of farmhouse to me, is about creating a wholesome home where you make your own food and don’t create extra waste. Back in the day, crocks were the very essence of Tupperware! They were used for food storage, creating butter and so much more. They are extremely durable and extremely beautiful…and expensive! If you’re lucky enough to score one, add it to your decor with a few faux pumpkins for an extra cute look!
p.s. The black thing to the right of the crock is an antique metal pie safe from the late 1800s. Women stored their home baked pies in these to help keep them fresh and away from bugs. I use mine to store a lighter and fire extinguisher for our fireplace…it’s always better to be safe than sorry!

4. Wooden Trays and Fabric Pumpkins
Mix things up a little from the traditionally colored pumpkins and go with fabric pumpkins! Fabric pumpkins not only add a pop of color, they add a nice texture to any space! As always, mix the new with old!

5. Don’t Forget Your Bathroom Shelves!
Why not add a few extra small faux pumpkins and wooden bead garland (that is sooo easy to make!) to your bathroom shelves! No need to go overboard with the pumpkin decor, just a subtle little reminder of fall is all that is needed!

6. Accent Wall Decor
In the area between my kitchen and sunroom, we have a wall with a very deep counter on it. Above it was a blank space waiting for us to do something with it. When we designed the kitchen, I originally thought that we would build a shallow cabinet there to house a small fraction of of my cookbooks. But, we opted to not go the cabinet route, so instead, I bought some cute decor and put it there instead!
