Truth: I actually don’t scroll the socials looking at beautiful home decor. Why? Because it’s sooo easy to feel like you’ve got to change everything up and follow the latest trends. And honestly, I’m just not that type of person.

It’s like when capri pants became popular — I was in late middle school/early high school and I was dumbfounded when I started seeing people wearing these. I just couldn’t wrap my brain around wearing “long shorts”?? haha! Now, all these years later, guess what I love wearing? Yep, you guessed it, capri pants! But I needed to like them in my own time. Not when they were all the rage.

That’s how I am with decor. I’ve always liked gold, feminine, curvy, dark, eclectic designs. Not straight lines or modern. It’s just not my jam.

I laugh all of the time now when I see Victorian, feminine designs and colors coming back! …and that’s why, I just don’t follow the trends! I just do what I like.

I absolutely love decorating my home with pieces and goodies I’ve collected or thrifted from all over the place. I’m definitely not a “go to the store and buy everything in one take” kind of girl.

I just added this mantle and mirror – and oh my gosh do I love it! I’ll have to write another blog post about them, but I’m absolutely loving how this area turned out in our room!
