Ever since I was a little kid, I have absolutely loved decorating the inside and outside of my homes. When we were little, my sister and I would help my mom decorate the inside, and as I got older, I liked to take over my dad’s job of putting up the lights outside.
There’s something magical about decorating – and something super unmagical about putting the decor away! HAHA! Putting the decor away was definitely a task for my mom! She is a master packer – like literally! Everything that ever got put into our attic was packed so well it could have been put on an airplane, freight train, cargo ship and even a donkey and would not have broken. She’s legit.
I look forward to decorating my home every year, usually around the Dog Days of Summer when it’s hot and you’d appreciate a break in the heat!
Christmas Decor Planning Tips:
Here are some of my tips for starting to plan for my Christmas decor in July!
- Start early: Begin thinking about your Christmas decor in July so that you have plenty of time to gather ideas, shop for decorations, and make any DIY projects.
- Make a list: Create a list of the decorations you already have and the ones you need to purchase or make. This will help you stay organized and avoid buying duplicates.
- Shop around for decor: Take advantage of sales and discounts during the summer months to purchase Christmas decorations. Look for online deals or visit local stores that may have Christmas in July sales.
- Get creative with summer-themed decor: Embrace the summer season by incorporating summer-themed elements into your Christmas decor. For example, you can use seashells, starfish, or tropical fruits as ornaments or table centerpieces.
- Plan your color scheme: Decide on a color scheme for your Christmas decor in advance. This will help you create a cohesive and visually appealing look throughout your home.
- Consider outdoor decorations: If you have a garden or outdoor space, think about how you can incorporate Christmas decorations into your outdoor decor. This could include string lights, wreaths, or even a Christmas-themed garden display.
- DIY projects: Get crafty and make some of your own Christmas decorations. This can be a fun and budget-friendly way to personalize your decor and add a unique touch to your home.
By planning your holiday decor ahead of time in July, you can ensure that you have everything you need for a festive and enjoyable Christmas celebration. Take the time to gather ideas, shop for decorations, and get creative with your decor to make this Christmas in July truly special
