This easy, kid approved, budget friendly pizza pie is made with premade pie crust, pizza sauce, browned Italian sausage and cheese. It’s the perfect meal for busy weeknights!
I love to make easy, kid approved, budget-friendly meals for my family of five. It’s not always an easy task, but when I come across a recipe that they all love, I dance a little mommy victory dance and keep a mental note of “make that again!”. These pizza pies did just that! Everyone loved them! P.S. this Chicago girl apparently loves pizza…I practically have more pizza recipe creations on here than desserts! I’ve got them listed out at the end of this post! Be sure to check them out!
I decided to pull out my lazy card, and used premade pie crust from the store – I have good reason…I was in a hurry to get over to our lightning struck house and plan out our kitchen renovation with my hubby!! Typically I make my own pie crust using my favorite pizza dough recipe but I was pressed for time, and this pie crust was already in my freezer, so why not?!?!
Lets Make It Together!
Roll out the pie crust onto a baking sheet and ladle on the pizza sauce.

Brown Italian sausage and then place on top of the sauce.
Sprinkle on as much cheese as you would like. I used parmesan and mozzarella.
Place the second pie crust on top and seal the edges with a fork.
Bake at 400 degrees F for 18 -25 minutes and then enjoy!
My kiddos super loved these pizza pies!
I was thrilled that they all loved it! It was beyond easy and because it was thin, unlike my homemade Chicago Style Pizza, it cooked really fast, so I was able to get to our house quickly!
