Perfect Homemade Cheese Pizza
Is it just me or do you think that when you make homemade cheese pizza it just doesn’t taste the same as the pizza joints? If you agree I have some GREAT news!! I think I have finally found the perfect homemade cheese pizza cheese blend! I am stoked!
I made pizza the other night and decided to put on a whole buncha different cheeses and surprisingly it yielded amazing results!!
I started out by making my all time favorite, go to pizza dough recipe. For sauce I used Classico Vodka Spaghetti Sauce (for some reason I love that sauce!) Then for the kid’s and my pizza I loaded it with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese and then topped it with Cotija cheese, a mexican Parmesan cheese. I really think the Cotija was the perfect addition. Oh my gosh yummy!!!
For Lover Boy’s pizza I browned some smoked deer sausage and put on top of the cheese. I had no clue that I used the smoked sausage (in fact, I didn’t even know we had different types of sausage). As I was making it he nicely complained and said I used the wrong stuff and that it probably wouldn’t taste good…wrong! He was blown away by how good it tasted! (phew!) He said that it tasted just like a Mellow Mushroom pizza, my most favorite pizza other than Ginos back in Chicago! Score!!!

I hope you like it! The best part is you don’t have to let it set for more than 10 minutes! So you can basically use it right away! One of my favorite parts!! (plus, guilty admittance – I love this dough raw…I know, I have major issues!) 🙂 Enjoy!!
