Both my family and my husband’s family grew up camping. Like a lot…especially his family! They traveled to 49 states and all of the Provinces of Canada by motorcycle and sidecar. For real. I’m not joking.
Because we both grew up that way, our three kiddos have been to 48 states and 5 countries – all by the time they were 14, 13, and 10 years old! Traveling with our family is what my husband LIVES for!

Like most campers, our favorite snack around the campfire is s’mores. Mmmm, I love s’mores! But…what about when you have a craving for a s’more but you don’t have a campfire going?
Well…if you’re 19 and 20 years old, and having a sleepover, and have a craving for a good ol’ fashion s’more, you may decide that you can cook a marshmallow in the microwave and then make a delicious and gooey campfire-inspired snack.
In complete shock, you will learn that a single marshmallow has the ability to transform 10 times it’s size in about 3 seconds flat and make a big ol’ mess. —> I’m sure you’re wonder how I know this?!? haha! Said 19 and 20 year olds were yours truly and her then boyfriend, now hubby.
Because now I’m a mature adult, with three kids and way too many animals, the last thing I want is one more mess to clean up…that’s where these s’more cones made in the oven come in to play! You can all thank me later!
I guarantee you will love this quick and easy s’more cones recipe made with sugar cones, marshmallows and Hershey’s chocolate.
S’more Cone Ingredients
- sugar cones – these act as the graham crackers
- Hershey’s milk chocolate bars – the meltable, delicious chocolate!
- marshmallows – your favorite marshmallow brand will do. For this recipe, I recommend using the regular sized marshmallows. Alternatively, you could use the small marshmallows and fit more in the cone
How To Make S’more Cones In The Oven
For this recipe, I used my popover pan. However, I know that most people do not have one of these, nor even know what it is! haha #foodie. So, you can use a muffin tin or any kind of oven save bowl that you can place sugar cones into and not have them tip over.
Place one sugar cone in each pan of the popover pan.
Next, break a Hershey’s chocolate bar into the small rectangles and stick as many as you would like in each sugar cone (I did two pieces of chocolate in each cone).
Then place one regular sized marshmallow on top and gently squish it into the cone so it does not fall out.
Turn your oven onto to broil. My oven has a “low broil” and “high broil”. I turned mine to “low broil”.
Once the oven has reached the set temperature, place the pan in the oven on the lowest rack and let bake for 1-3 minutes … Pro Tip: turn the oven light on and watch the marshmallow brown and take out when golden brown. **each oven bakes differently, especially on the broil mode. So definitely stand by your oven and watch the entire time! Don’t walk away!
Once you remove them from the oven, I dare you to not devour the entire pan worth right away! … I mean, when you’re camping, there’s kind of an unspoken code that you can eat as many s’mores as humanly possible. 😂
These s’more cones are ridiculously good and will fill your cravings for a s’more when you don’t have access to a campfire!
