Homemade Hot Chocolate
Well friends we’ve been snowed in the past couple of days here in North Carolina. When the winter storms hit our area doesn’t have the equipment or man power to clear the roads so basically the whole area goes into hibernation!

But…
There was still a value sized box of Snickers Ice Cream Bars!! woot woot!
Long story short, our store was out of food!! I was going to buy hot chocolate but the only containers left were “no sugar added” … no thanks!!
So while the kids were outside playing this morning, I was in the kitchen whipping up some delicious Homemade Hot Chocolate!
Here’s how I made it!
- 3 TBS cocoa powder
- 2 TBS sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 TBS milk
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup half & half
- mini marshmallows
- In a large pot heat cocoa powder, sugar, salt, vanilla and 2 TBS milk.
- Whisk until melted
- Once melted add milk and half & half
- Heat until warm
- Serve and top with mini marshmallows
Homemade hot chocolate. Yum! The perfect beverage for when I’m busy tweaking my website.
