Coffee Chat
Happy weekend friends!

This has been a fun and exciting week! Busy and fast pace…but fun!
TV Segment
I was asked for do a cooking segment for NBC in the Wausau, Wisconsin area. The recipe was for BBQ Pork Rind Cheesy Cowboy Casserole.

Radio Segments
I also had two radio segments talking all about National Ice Cream month! I shared recipes for ice cream sandwiches (which I definitely need to get uploaded on here!!) The first radio segment was in Minnesota and the next was Illinois. Pretty exciting stuff!

House Progress
The yard is in full bloom and it is looking gorgeous! Everything that blooms here is humongous! I can only imagine how old all of the plants are – as the house has been here for 135 years. The white hydrangea in the right photo are the biggest I have ever seen! This is actually only 2 plants…but they take up the entirely of the curve of our porch!

As usual, we have a zillion and one house projects going on. Tomorrow, one of the families that used to live here in the 1990s is coming to see the house. Ahhh!! I’m so excited and so running around like a crazy woman all at the same time! I mean, truthfully, this place is still like a construction zone from the fire, so… that definitely stinks.
However, this is definitely a great kick in the rear because my hubby is finishing hanging all of our kitchen cabinet doors (we still have a lot to do…I’m ordering my backsplash tile from Ann Sacks and that it won’t be in for a couple months still, wahh!) and I tackled our closet.
Now…I’m going to share with you the before and after photos…because we are friends, right? There’s no unfriending me after seeing the truth of some of our spaces. HA! We used to have a closet system in here, but when the demo for the fire took place, out went our closet system. Rather than just hang some wire shelves and make life at least a little easier, we are choosing to live the hard way until my extremely talented hubby builds a custom closet system! ….we love to torture ourselves! ugh!
Anyway, here’s the before and after…I’ve heard that all of the cool kids are now using boxes as drawers!

I mean, yeah…I don’t even know what to say! haha. I donated 5 ginormous bags of clothes and shoes…and feel so good!
Kid’s Bathroom
The kid’s bathroom is coming along nicely! We finally got the Kohler toilet installed and it looks so nice with the new Kohler clawfoot tub we purchased. I’ll be sure to update again soon about this bathroom!

Haven Conference
Next week I am heading to Atlanta for a blogging conference all for DIYers! I’m so excited to get to spend time with so many creative minds! Plus, I love Georgia! We used to live there – my two oldest kiddos were born there! – so I’m so happy to be going back! I had really hoped to have my whole family come along and make it a tour of our old stomping grounds, but unfortunately baseball and horseback and in the swing of things right now.
Hope you all have a happy week!
