I absolutely love planning parties…well, let me rephrase that. I love planning KID parties. I’m not a super cool adult…I’d rather drink a milkshake than an alcoholic beverage and I’d rather make something adorable than awkwardly socialize.

So kid parties it is!

Before the craziness of life happenings since moving to Wisconsin, in North Carolina I used to host multiple parties per year for my kiddo’s friends. We had Halloween parties, Friendsgiving, cookie decorating parties, tea parties, and even parent’s night out parties…yep, I willingly invited all of my kid’s friends over to our house to do crafts and games while their parents went out Christmas shopping or had a date night (all free of charge of course).

This past summer, my teenage son started dreaming up big plans to host a Halloween party of “like 50 people”…😂 I have to give the kid props for being such a fun guy. Truly I do.

While 50 was just a “tad much” 🙃, we settled on 20 friends coming to our house to hang out after doing a haunted golf cart ride in a nearby-ish town. And it was a blast! All of the kids had so much fun and apparently there have been suggestions to do a get-together once a month here! {yes, I will guiltily admit that makes my mommy heart skip a beat. I’ve always dreamed that my house would be a fun, safe hang out space…heck, I’m a freaking stay at home mom. This kind of stuff that I live for!!}

Rather than go all “Stephanie’d-out”, I had to test the waters since this was our first “teenager party” here with both boys and girls…my boys have hosted a Super Bowl party for several years, but things are changing! 😉

I didn’t want to spend hours in the kitchen crafting up Witch’s Hat Cookies, Acorn Donut Holes, Coffin PopTarts, Witch’s Cauldron Brownie Bites, Hershey Kiss Candy Corn Pretzel Melts, or Popcorn Caramel Balls and only be made fun of for making little kid treats.

So, instead, I bought a bunch of snack food and only made one thing…Pumpkin Patch Dirt Pudding Cups! They were so easy and let’s face it, who doesn’t love Oreos?!? I figured they would be a hit…and they were!

Ingredients

  • milk – I always use whole milk
  • Jello chocolate pudding – the smaller sized box, 3.9oz
  • Cool Whip – 8oz container
  • Oreos – I suggest buying the bigger packages because if you’re anything like me, you will eat way too many Oreos during this process!
  • candy pumpkins – I actually bought the Brach’s Autumn Mix because they had both candy pumpkins and candy corn
