It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

Today we officially got our first major snowfall of the season and the sights are simply gorgeous!

The house is exactly everything I could have ever hoped for! It has a simple beauty to it that I truly just love. The full wrap around porch is a dream come true.

I am absolutely in love with the color we decided to change it to. We went from a bland tan to a gorgeous shade of blue/green (in this photo, I know it looks more green…it actually looks SO similar to the original color of the house – we found lots of the green paint on the siding!!) Color: Behr Mountain Pine

It’s so crazy to think, that our house is located in town! With sidewalks leading to shops, restaurants and parks. Fortunately, we sit on 3/4 of an acre, on a corner lot, so although we are in town, it feels and looks like we are in our own private oasis a lot of the time…when Road America or the county dirt track isn’t racing ?

I simply just love this house and all that it stands for – and if you’ve been a reader for some time, you know that this house means a lot to me and how truly honored I feel to own it.

I rarely am ever in photos – especially when they involve our house. It’s usually me taking them, and that’s ok. It’s something I love doing. But tonight, while snapping photos of the house with the lights on, I asked my daughter to take one of me – and I simply love it.

This ol’ house of ours has been through hell and back (quite literally). She has taken abuse that most would crumble under. She has scars and wounds that will never heal. Yet, here she stands, at almost 135 years old. She is tall. She is strong. And she sure is heck uniquely distinguished. She has preserved. She has protected. And she exudes a light that is like none other. She is absolutely loved.

She reminds me of Christ’s love for us. He is always there, always protecting, always standing strong. Sometimes, however, you have to look between the lines, beneath the crumble to see it. But, He is always there.

May you feel the love on this beautiful night friends.
