Every year, I love making special treats for my family on Valentine’s Day, and these heart-shaped brownies have become a favorite. They’re simple, delicious, and add a little extra love to the day!

Ingredients

  • Ghirardelli Chocolate Supreme boxed brownie mix
  • water
  • egg – for optimal mixing, use eggs at room temperature. If you’re short on time, place cold eggs in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes to bring them up to temperature quickly.
  • vegetable oil
  • chocolate syrup fudge – included in the Ghirardelli chocolate supreme boxed mix
  • red, white and pink sprinkles – I used these Valentine’s Day themed sprinkles

Tools

  • large mixing bowl
  • measuring cups
  • cookie sheet
  • rubber spatula

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • STEP 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, egg, water, and vegetable oil, whisking until smooth. Do not include the chocolate syrup packet at this time
  • STEP 2: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup a breeze
  • STEP 3: Pour batter onto the parchment paper and use a rubber spatula to evenly spread it across the surface
  • STEP 4: Bake at 325°F for 20-25 minutes. For fudgier brownies, remove them at the 20-minute mark; for a firmer texture, bake closer to 25 minutes. Let them cool completely to room temperature before cutting to get clean, even heart shapes
