Mocha Hot Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
Delicious cookies made with instant hot chocolate drink mix and chocolate chip morsels.
I love incorporating ingredients into cookies that aren’t that common. The other day I was craving double chocolate chip cookies – just like my Chocolate White Chocolate Chip Cookies. Unfortunately, I did not have any cocoa powder. Rather than scratching baking all together, I improvised and made my cookies using powdered hot chocolate mix! I’m here to tell you, they were super good and that you should give this recipe a try!

Let’s Make The Cookies Together!
Step 1: Preheat oven to 300°F

Step 2: In a medium sized bowl, combine flour, hot chocolate mix, baking soda, and salt

Step 3: In a small bowl, dissolve the coffee granules in the water

Step 4: In a large stand mixer bowl, blend granulated sugar, brown sugar and butter

Step 5: Scrape down the sides of the bowl and then add the eggs and coffee. Beat until smooth

Step 6: Beat until smooth

Step 7: Slowly add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture until combined

Step 8: Form 1″ dough balls and round with your hands. Place on a baking sheet 2″ apart. Bake for 20 – 22 minutes at 300°F

Once the cookies are done baking, immediately transfer cookies to a wire cooke rack to cool. Serve with milk and enjoy!

I made these cookies the first time I saw the recipe on your blog and they are scrumptious! They are, however, the flattest cookies I have ever made … Where did I go wrong? They spread so much I actually had one big cookie. Lol
Oh no! I’m sorry! I have no idea what went wrong! Did you use melted butter? Or possibly overmix the dough? Maybe try them again! lol
