Stephanie’s Recipe Rundown

Why You’ll Love It: It’s quick, fun, and makes the cutest edible bowl for holiday treats. Time Needed: About 25 minutes Skill Level: Super easy — beginner friendly Flavor & Texture: Classic peppermint flavor with a smooth, candy-hard crunch – they’re technically edible, but very hard, so I treat them more as a fun novelty bowl than something you fully eat. Would I Make This Again? Absolutely — it’s such a simple holiday win!

xoxo Stephanie

I was prompted by Foodtalk to make a bowl out of peppermint candies and at first I was like… wait, what? But once I started playing around with the idea, it actually turned out so cute.

The bowls came together so easily, and my kids were pretty excited to eat ice cream out of a peppermint candy bowl instead of a regular one. It was such a fun, edible Christmas dessert idea!

It reminded me how much I love simple holiday recipes — just like my Candy-Coated Pretzel Wreaths and DIY Snowglobe Cupcakes — all super easy and so fun for kids!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will the candy bowl melt with warm foods?it won’t necessarily “melt” but it will become very sticky and gooey. I would recommend not serving any warm foods in the peppermint bowl
  • How long does it stay fresh? 1–2 weeks if kept in a cool, dry place and stored in an airtight container
  • Can I make it ahead of time?yep! You can make a peppermint candy bowl several days ahead of time as long as you store it in a cool, dry place. Keep it in an airtight container to prevent humidity from making it sticky. It’ll be ready to fill and serve whenever you need it
  • Can you reuse the bowl? – this will depend on what you served in the bowl. If you used it as a candy dish, yes, you can reuse it. If you used it as an ice cream bowl, most likely not

Troubleshooting Problems

  • Bowl cracked → baked too long
  • Didn’t shape well → candy cooled too fast
  • Sticky surface → skip cooking spray on the candy side
