3 Ingredient Shredded Salsa Chicken Tacos
These 3-Ingredient Salsa Chicken Tacos are one of my go-to recipes for busy weeknights. With just chicken breasts, a jar of salsa, and a packet of taco seasoning, you can have tender, flavorful shredded chicken ready in about 30 minutes! It’s the perfect quick and easy dinner for those nights when you need something fast but still delicious.

Salsa Chicken Taco Ingredients
- Chicken breasts
- Salsa – I used Tostitos restaurant style salsa
- Taco seasoning mix

I was first introduced to this super easy recipe by a friend in Georgia. She would make her chicken tacos in the crock pot and let them slow cook all day. Unfortunately, I’m not always that prepared, so I make mine in a pot on the stove. They are ready in about 30 minutes and everyone loves them!
Step-By-Step
Step 1: Add Chicken to Pot
Place raw boneless, skinless chicken breasts into a medium-sized pot on the stovetop.
Step 2: Pour Salsa Over Chicken & Add Taco Seasoning Packet
Pour a jar of salsa and taco seasoning packet directly over the chicken, covering the chicken breasts evenly.
Step 3: Cover and Cook
Place a lid on the pot and allow the chicken to simmer on low to medium heat, letting it cook through while absorbing the salsa flavors.
Step 4: Shred the Chicken
Once fully cooked, use two forks to shred the tender chicken directly in the pot, mixing it with the salsa for flavorful, juicy shredded salsa chicken – perfect for tacos!
