Pub Burger with Bacon & Fried Onions

I recently had a hankering for a good pub style burger…but not any burger, it had to have deep fried onions on it! Ohh how I love deep fried onions! I can eat them plain without anything!

Since we aren’t in our house right now {lightning strike = house fire}, we are missing our grill, wahh. So I had to “grill” the burgers in the oven on a 3 piece broiler pan. P.S. These burgers could easily be made vegetarian with my favorite veggie burger recipe!

Lets Fry The Onions Together!

Slice an onion thin and get two bowls ready. Place a bowl with about 1/4 cup of milk on left and a bowl with around 1/2 cup of flour that is seasoned with salt and pepper.

Dip onion slices in the milk and then in the flour mixture.

Melt 1tbs of butter in a large skillet over medium heat

Place floured onions in the melted butter and cook until browned

Sautéed Mushrooms

Next I sliced portobello mushrooms and sautéed them in a good soaking of A1 Sauce and Sweet Baby Ray’s sauce.

I cooked bacon and then stacked everything on top of a burger garnished with tomatoes and lettuce! It was delicious!!
