My High School Diary

Cleaning out an old dresser can be a tedious task, but sometimes, it leads to the most unexpected treasures. Today, I stumbled upon something truly special—my high school diary. As I flipped through its pages, memories of young love and dreams came rushing back.

My little brother actually gave me this diary as a birthday present—a playful joke at the time. He was 7.5 years younger than me and had a habit of always saying, “You go, girl!” whenever I did something exciting or impressive. Back then, it was hilarious, and looking at it now, it’s a sweet reminder of our sibling bond. 😊

Finding My High School Diary

While cleaning out an old dresser we were getting ready to move, I stumbled upon something unexpected—my high school diary. The 2000’s themed cover, the slightly crinkled pages, the handwriting that instantly transported me back in time. I couldn’t resist flipping through a few pages, and right there, in the middle of all my teenage thoughts and dreams, was one recurring topic—my sweet Lover Boy. 😊

It’s funny how something as simple as an old notebook can bring back so many memories. As I read through those pages, I found entries about our first official date on May 24, 2000, and countless more after that. Some things in life may fade over time, but seeing those words, written by my younger self, made it feel like it all happened just yesterday.

It was from January 12, 2002 – we were actually not “dating” at this point but we kept in really close touch. He was at University of Iowa and I was a senior in High School. We were talking about marriage, which then lead to us talking about kid names…and as many of you know, 8.5 years later, Brayden is what we named our first son! 🙂

It’s the little things like this that just give me the tingles that we’ve come this far together! and are still happy! 🙂 It’s been quite a long time since I first saw him, and still get those tingles!

I just love my hubaroo!
