While she typically uses Lipton vegetable soup mix, you can easily make it with Knorr vegetable soup mix for a classic Knorr spinach dip variation. She takes a round loaf of Hawaiian bread, hollows out the center to create a bread bowl, and fills it with the creamy dip. It’s a party-perfect spinach dip recipe that I look forward to every holiday season. Now that she’s shared the recipe with me, I make it year-round, and it’s always a hit!

How to Make Spinach Dip with Lipton Vegetable Soup Mix
To make this delicious spinach dip, drain the defrosted spinach well using a fine mesh strainer or paper towels to remove any excess water. Lipton Vegetable Soup Mix is preferred over Lipton Onion Soup Mix for this recipe because its blend of vegetable flavors perfectly complements the spinach and creamy base. If you can’t find Lipton soup mix, the Knorr Vegetable Recipe packet is a great alternative and equally delicious!
In a large bowl, mix the spinach, sour cream, mayonnaise, and Lipton soup packet until well combined. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least an hour (or overnight for the best flavor).
When ready to serve, hollow out a Hawaiian bread loaf or a round loaf of bread, cut the removed center into bite-sized pieces, and serve the dip in the bread bowl with the bread chunks or Hawaiian rolls on the side.

After sitting in the refrigerator for a while, you may notice some excess water or liquid forming on the surface. This is normal, especially with ingredients like spinach and sour cream. Simply give the dip a good stir before serving to reincorporate the liquid and restore its creamy texture.
For best results when serving, keep the dip chilled by placing it in a bowl over ice if it will be sitting out for an extended period. This ensures it stays fresh and safe to enjoy!

- 8 oz sour cream
- 1 c mayonnaise
- 10 oz frozen spinach defrosted and drained of excess water
- 1 pkg Hawaiian sweet bread loaf or rolls
Instructions
- Thoroughly drain the excess water from the frozen spinach using a fine mesh strainer or paper towels for best results
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the chopped spinach, sour cream, mayonnaise, and Lipton soup mix (or Knorr vegetable recipe mix for a classic Knorr spinach dip twist) until well combined
- Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (preferably a day ahead of time if possible) before serving
- Serve the cold spinach dip in a hollowed-out round loaf of bread or a Hawaiian bread bowl with bread chunks or fresh vegetables as dippers
