How To Make A Mailbox Swag for Fall
Welcome to Day 8!
Today we are decorating our mailboxes! Mailboxes are often overlooked when it comes to the decor department…but I love to decorate my mailbox because it just makes my home feel more homey!
I have decorated my mailboxes at my other houses for years with artificial floral stems that I purchase from either Dollar Tree or Walmart.
For our DIY craft today with our 12 Days of DIY Fall Craft series, I’m tackling my mailbox and adding some flare!
Supplies:
- Metal mailbox wreath form (or 2 Dollar Tree candy cane wreath forms, put together with zip ties)
- deco mesh
- artificial flowers
- leaf, pumpkin, etc picks
- dry floral foam
- zip ties
- **if you are using the Dollar Tree candy cane wreath forms, you can snip off the “circle part” that I mention in the video with wire snips
Let’s Make It Together!
In this 8 minute video, I share the entire process of making the mailbox swag.

I was intrigued when you said two candy cane forms. You can buy mailbox forms at Michaels but the sides are too short to hug mailbox and darn near impossible to hide when placed on mailbox plus they scratch mailbox. I like the idea of adding ribbon to hide legs and protect mailbox plus the extra wires within the legs provides a better base to decorate if you wish. Thanks for sharing
