Coffee Chat #2

I can’t believe it’s already been a whole week since my last coffee chat! This week seemed to go by really fast! How was your week?

We are up to our ears in snow here in Wisconsin! The other day I was delivering Valentine’s Day treats to my kiddo’s virtual and in-person classes and I literally saw this happening on the road…something I’ve never seen before! I mean…huh? What in the what?!?!?!

Snow removal

Do you know what is happening in this photo? There was a huge tractor snowblower machine scooping up the snow off the sides of the roads and blowing it into a line of three huge dump trucks!!! The dump trucks then hauled it off the road to somewhere, where all snow goes to live a happy life off the streets! Yikes!!! We really have a lot of snow! Today, we got even more! The plows are going down our street as I’m typing this!

Things I’m Loving

Let’s talk area rugs for a second. Phew! I’ve been buying area rugs left and right for our house because our entire house is hard wood floors. Finding a rug you like is no easy task! In fact, it’s a lot of hard work! I think I literally worked up a mental sweat trying to figure out which one to order!

With all of the snow we have {for real, there’s over a foot of snow in areas of our yard!}, our poor mudroom has seen better days! With the 2387937 in and out trips from the dogs ???, the kid’s snow gear and all of the other reasons why we come in and out that door, the area rug we had there wasn’t large enough to fully protect our brand new wood floors from the melting snow. After a lot of research and pondering, I finally bought this awesome rug ! There are SOOOO many colors to choose from but I finally settled on Persian distressed clay for our mudroom, and holy smokes you guys! I love it! It can be washed in the washing machine! It is made from recyclable materials {which is a huge win to my kids and hubby} and it has “grippies” on the back so it doesn’t slip or curl on the edges! It’s ah-mazing! {speaking of curling rug edges, I’ve got a surprise for you next week on Tuesday!}

Where is your favorite place to buy area rugs? Have you ever bought a rug online?

House Projects

I haven’t shared much about our current house situation, because well…it’s still a work in progress and quite frankly, not exactly what we want to be working on. Slowly but surely we will get the ol’ 1886 gal back to where she was. In the meantime, we have a bunch of projects in the works. Over the next couple of months I’ll be doing some fun reveals of before and afters…and ya’ll these are going to be some dang good before and afters because you can’t get much worse than a freaking lightning strike catching your house on fire! ha!

I’ve been showing bits of my kitchen in some of my recent recipes and decor posts. My genius hubby completely designed and fully customized this kitchen to my every desire, I mean even to the inch depth of cabinets to fit my ridiculous plates! However, due to Covid delays, etc, we still don’t even have all our of kitchen appliances that were ordered in August ya’ll!! Yes, that is 6 months! It may still be a few months until they come in {are you kidding me?!?!?}, so although it’s going to be a while until I share our full kitchen, here’s a little sneak…p.s. we are still working on getting all of the cabinet doors up! haha

Yowzers!!! Ahhh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! It is so absolutely, 100% up my alley and exactly what I had hoped for! My hubby is a kitchen genius! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Alright…it’s now 2:15am and I’m still up typing and binge watching Dawson’s Creek…haha! I told you last week, I’m loving watching my old favorite show! What shows are you binge watching right now?
