Baby #3

Today we went for our 20 week anatomy scan (ultrasound). This is baby #3 for us and for some reason I get more and more excited each pregnancy! We have been blessed beyond words and love these little kiddos with all of our hearts.

The kids have been with for every visit so far and it’s been so much fun for them to hear the baby’s heartbeat and see the baby on the 2 ultrasounds I’ve had before today. Today’s visit was the best! As we watched the baby on the screen, Lover Boy and I helped point out the head, face, hands, spine, etc. Laughing Coyote kept telling us that it wasn’t a baby, it was a turtle! I could barley stop laughing!

Baby #3 was super squirmy (just like baby’s #1 & #2!) When the ultrasound first started the little baby was literally doing sit-ups. It was hilarious. Needless to say we weren’t able to get super fantastic photos (no profile shot) because of all it’s moving around.

Here’s some of my favorites of our little turtle!

We chose not to find out the gender. Which for some reason we have caught so much slack for. It seems to really puzzle people that we dont’ want to know what the baby is. I simply explain to everyone that we did not find out with Baby #2 either…and it was the best surprise! When I delivered Laughing Coyote the doctor had said “OK mom, when the baby comes out I’ll hold it up and you announce what it is”. Seeing our sweet baby for the first time and being surprised that he was a boy was just so memorable and like nothing else I could have ever imagine.

  1. Not finding out what we were having with all three of ours was the best surprises of my life. I can’t imagine doing it any other way. My husband got to announce what they were each time. Then my mom peeked in their diapers when we were settled in our room and got to tell other visitors what we had. 🙂 I say kudos to you. We got all kinds of flack from people too. “How can you plan?!” Um, it’s a baby. They all do the exact same thing for the first year of their lives. Congratulations and best wishes for a happy healthy delivery.

    1. Oh that’s such a neat way for visitors to find out!
I totally agree! It’s way more fun to wait! 🙂
How’s that sweet little addition of yours doing?
