Candlestick Redo
Give a pair of store-bought wooden candle sticks a distressed, farmhouse style makeover with Behr paint and sandpaper
A couple of weeks ago while shopping with the kiddos I found these 3 candlestick holders for $7.00 at Wal-Mart in the clearance isle.
While I was not a fan of the color, I figured I could give them a little makeover with some paint. In the spirit of Spring I decided to spruce them up with some old paint (Behr Cottage White) we had from Little Finch’s bathroom at our old house.

Want to see how we made them?
After we got them all painted, I took fine grit sandpaper and distressed them a bit.
I sanded just until the wood stain started to show around the edges and a little bit on the “leg” and base.
While I usually do not prefer the distressed look to decorate with, these were a fun little day project and really added some dimension. I topped them with small glass dishes (that I also found at Wal-Mart for $1.47 each) and easter egg salt & pepper shakers that I finagled Lover Boy into buying back in college. 🙂
They add a nice pop of fresh, fun color on our entryway table…just what I was hoping to accomplish!
Love,
