Waitin' on the mail man!

I feel like a little kid the night before Christmas waiting for Santa to deliver all of the presents! Although this present that I’m waiting on won’t be coming from a jolly ol’ man with a white beard nor will it be brought in a flying sleigh with eight tiny reindeer. Instead it will be brought by a big brown truck probably going way too fast down a neighborhood street and a man who will more than likely be wearing shorts. He’ll throw my package on the doorstep and reach for the doorbell to ring to inform me of his delivery…but…as he does that he’ll find my note that says “Please DO NOT ring doorbell. Please just leave package – Thanks!” I just like to change things up, add a little spice to people’s lives…especially those so dear to me-like my UPS delivery man who has my beloved package!

more to come…any guesses on what’s inside the package? hint: it’s from Crate & Barrel.

OK OK What’s inside?!?!

Wow! notice how not only the box opened but the door opened as well!…I have magical powers!

Drum roll please….

and it’s a….

What? a fruit basket? Who in the heck writes about a fruit basket? — Well I DO! Notice that hideous mess behind it! Fruit and veggies just stashed on the counter with no rhyme or reason to it! I wanted that to change! And although I am not a person who likes things out on the counter, I finally broke down and decided that I wanted one of these crazy baskets! (which by the way provides a daunting shopping experience!) Lover Boy has been trying to convince me for years! and I really do mean years! So it’s here!

Lets see what the after looks like!…

SO MUCH BETTER! I love you fruit basket! Even if I’m a fruit cake myself! We go together nicely!

(I told you so many great life changing experiences happen in our kitchen on a daily basis!!! haha…this is proof!) 🙂

*plus may I add that two GREAT cookbooks finally arrived today as well! 1) The Pioneer Woman Cooks by Ree Drummond 2) Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen by Trisha Yearwood. I foresee many long hours in the kitchen trying out these new recipes while at the same time expanding this every so mighty waistline!
