Harley Davidson Hand Painted Signs
A few weeks ago Lover Boy flew up to Illinois to buy a Harley Davidson Road King Custom from his dad. This has been a moment he has been waiting for since…well forever.
By the time he was 15 he had traveled to 49 states riding in sidecars.
So as one can imagine he truly has wanted a Harley since before he could even drive a car! Rather than tell parts of the story again, you can read them HERE.
Over the years we have gone to look at countless numbers of bikes. However, there has always been some way of justifying not buying it.
After his Harley Road Trip with his dad the need desire to have one escalated through the roof. To make a long story short his dad offered to sell his old bike to him (the one he rode down to GA to meet his first granddaughter, Little Finch! :-)…double wammy sentimental side note, well ok, at least to me! )since he had recently bought this one:
(Same sidecar Lover Boy used to ride in only repainted)
Since this has been a moment Lover Boy has been waiting for for forever, I wanted to make it extra special. The kids and I stayed home as he went up to get it so I managed to get a few hours of crafting time (once the kids were in bed).
I painted these signs for the garage to hang in the area (that I cleaned out…I’m so sweet) for his precious Harley to sit. 🙂
($5 for a big sheet of wood at Home Depot was all it cost because I already had the paint!)
I also had this collage made with some of his favorite memory photos
When he finally got home (after a 925 mile ride back, done in just under 19 hours – he did stop to spend the night at a hotel though) at 10:45pm that night he was really surprised and excited!
Both Little Finch and Laughing Coyote are IN LOVE with his new bike! They love love love sitting on it with daddy and watching him ride! I know that there will be many great traveling memories made with our family now.
