California Pizza Kitchen’s New Menu
I recently had the great pleasure of being invited to test out California Pizza Kitchen’s new menu items with friends from my #BlogCharlotte group! I hadn’t been to a CPK in many years so I was super excited to go test it out!
We started out by trying their new cocktails! I chose to go with the Blood Orange Sangria and the California Roots. They were both SO good!!

CPK’s seasonal sangria with Bacardi Limón, Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay, St. Germain Elderflower, blood orange purée and fresh agave nectar. This was so good that I drank it in no time at all! It was so sweet and fresh tasting!
This cocktail has Svedka Vodka, fresh avocado & mint, fresh agave sour, fennel salt rim. Honestly, this was so so good!! The avocado taste is very mild so you wouldn’t necessarily think you were drinking avocado!
Next up was a few varieties of flatbread!
This has whipped truffle cream, gorgonzola, mozzarella and sage. Literally, the sage was delicious!! It gave the flatbread such a fresh and unique taste! Definitely something I would recommend getting at your next visit!
This brussels + bacon flatbread was by far my most favorite item of the night! It seriously was so good! I ate so much of it that I was stuffed and thought I wouldn’t be able to eat any of the next dishes! Even some of the girls who don’t like brussels sprouts loved this! CPK totally nailed this one on the head! It’s a must order dish!
The harvest kale salad was tasty. It is made up of baby kale, toasted farro, roasted butternut squash, Napa cabbage, shaved pear, marinated cranberries, spiced pecans and goat cheese tossed with housemate citrus vinaigrette.
Next up was this totally unique and surprisingly delicious pizza! Shaved fingerling potatoes, Nueske’s applewood smoked bacon, caramelized leeks, parmesan, mozzarella and fresh cracked black pepper. Topped with two sunny side up eggs. The management staff suggested that we dip our pizza into ketchup. I was a little hesitant at first but it turned out to be the perfect combination!
Did you know that CPK was one of the very first restaurants to put BBQ Chicken pizza on their menu 1985? It’s true!! Super cool! I really loved this sweet and savory pizza combination!
This wild mushroom pizza was my favorite out of the pizza selections. It features shaved cremini, shiitake, portobello and white mushrooms with slivered scallions, cracked black pepper, romano and mozzarella, finished with parmesan. I totally digged this one! I recently made a pasta featuring shiitake mushrooms which I have a new found love for!
And if I wasn’t already full enough, next we were graced with this delicious fire-grilled ribeye with creamy blue cheese butter and fingerling potatoes.
And this delicious hearth-roasted halibut with grilled asparagus and butternut squash farro and baby kale. Both of these non pizza dishes were great and super tasty! Nice to know that you can order items not even related to pizza!
Then the night got even better with DESSERT!! Oh man!! This salted caramel pudding dessert was totally divine!! It had a chocolate bottom which made it out of this world! Make sure you save room for this when you go!
This butter cake was extremely rich and delicious! Everyone loved it so much, but I personally preferred the salted caramel pudding…you know me, I’m a chocolate girl!

We had so much fun eating delicious food, learning how to toss pizza dough and being treated like royalty!! I highly recommend going to your nearest CPK and filling up on their new delicious menu items!!
