This homemade flatbread recipe is so easy to make and can be used for flatbread pizzas or served plain smothered in butter, honey or Indian sauces! You only need a few pantry staples to make this savory bread in your own kitchen.
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and form in a ball
Remove dough from bowl place on a lightly oiled surface with olive oil. If there is still dry flour/dough in the bowl, add a small splash of water to remove the dough
Knead the ball of dough by hand, pressing down with your palm and spreading for 10 minutes, or until the gluten has created a strong but smooth bond
Place the dough back in the bowl and let rest for 10 minutes
Remove the dough and divide into 8 pieces. Form each piece into a ball by rolling and tucking the edges
Cooking
Heat a skillet with a generous amount of olive oil
Roll each dough ball out one at a time with a rolling pin. Place in the hot oil, let cook until the bubbles form, then flip over and cook until that side has browned
Repeat until all of the dough balls are cooked
Serve with butter, honey, cheese, or Indian sauces. Enjoy!
