Sugar Cookies

  • In a small mixing bowl cream together butter and sugar until fluffy
  • Add vanilla and egg
  • Sift dry ingredients together and add to cream mixture
  • Chill dough thoroughly before rolling out and cutting with cookie cutters
  • Bake on lightly greased sheet 400°F degrees 8-10 minutes (possibly less depending on oven. Do NOT let brown)

Royal Icing

  • Separate egg whites from yolks
  • Place egg whites into a mixing bowl
  • Mix eggs until fluffy and airy
  • Add in vanilla extract
  • Mix in powdered sugar
  • Mix until icing reaching a consistency of toothpaste *don't over mix
  • Add food coloring
  • Place in piping bags and decorate sugar cookies
