Ingredients
- Soft minky dot fabric (for backing)
- Cotton or flannel fabric ( for the front)
- Embroidery machine or pre-monogrammed fabric
- Thread (matching your fabric)
- Scissors or rotary cutter
- Pins or fabric clips
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the Fabric - Cut both the minky dot fabric and patterned cotton fabric to the same size. If monogramming, embroider the baby’s name onto the cotton fabric before assembling.
- Step 2: Pin the Layers Together - Place the two fabric pieces right sides together and pin or clip around the edges.
- Step 3: Sew the Blanket - Using a sewing machine, sew around the edges with a ½-inch seam allowance, leaving a small opening for turning.
- Step 4: Turn & Finish the Edges - Turn the blanket right side out and press the edges flat. Topstitch around the entire blanket to close the opening and give a polished look.
