I had the privilege to attend AND speak at the Shaklee University Live Conference in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The event was hosted by Dr. Steve Chaney with additional speakers Barb Lagoni, Master Coordinator and Rick Seymour,

Let me just tell you, that is quite the cast of speakers. Talk about being star struck!

Barb had called and asked me personally if I would share my son’s Eczema testimony. I said yes right away because I am so passionate about how Shaklee helped him overcome his battle with Eczema.

OK I kind of look a bit crazy, but aside from that let me just tell you how honored I felt to be able to up there sharing!

When I was up there in front of over 140 people I didn’t feel nervous at all – in fact I felt like this is where I’m supposed to be! A mom who still has something to offer!! And even better yet, it’s along the lines of my degree – Recreational Therapy.

My audience:

I began by telling everyone I wanted to tell them who I was. I ran Cross County and Track competitively for 10 years. So I always considered myself to be pretty healthy. In college I started in Nursing and then switched my majors to Recreational Therapy. I graduated and worked as the Memory Care Director at 3 different long-term care facilities and was also the Sales & Marketing Director and Alzheimer’s Association Support Group Leader. So I was very heavily involved with working with Doctors, nurses and other health care professionals on a daily basis. Like many, I trusted them. So when my son started having skin issues I trusted his doctors – 3 of them to be exact (because we moved so many times).

After 2.5 years of the doctors prescribing dozens of steroid creams and other prescriptions I knew I had to take matter into my own hands. Which you can read HERE for everything I discovered.

All in all, I am so happy that I was able to share our Shaklee Story with so many people. I hope it gave them them knowledge to go out there and make an impact on someone else’s life who may be dealing with Eczema.

Both of my kids have eczema. It is definitely a pain when they have flare-ups. Glad that you got to share your experience of how you manage your son’s eczema.
