I have to admit, I’m not much of a drinker. Every now and then I will have a Mango Margarita or a Not Your Father’s Root Beer but other than that, I really don’t like the taste of alcohol. However, the other day I was putting together my Thanksgiving Meal Planner and came across this recipe in a cookbook Southern Cocktails I had been given years ago when we first moved to the South.
So I set out to the local liquor store and bought this bottle.
I made it for my hubby and I and we both really enjoyed it! It had such a rich flavor and the nutty pecan flavor paired so awesome with the coffee!
The recipe is kind of crazy because it includes butter but hey, butter makes everything taste better, right? Plus the butter pairs so great with the praline taste.
- 1 ½ cups hot coffee
- ⅓ cup half-and-half
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup praline liqueur
- Garnish: cinnamon sticks
- Combine the coffee, half-and-half, and butter in a small saucepan until thoroughly combined and the butter has melted.
- Add the praline liqueur just before pouring into espresso or demitasse cups.
- Add the garnish.
