This past week I went to Cleveland, Ohio to attend Shaklee’s Global Conference – this year happens to be the 100th year since Dr. Shaklee created the very first multivitamin, so it was a celebration you didn’t want to miss!
This was my first Global Conference because I just joined Shaklee 1 year ago. I had the most amazing time. I am still blown away at how awesome it was… and mostly blown away at how awesome Shaklee really is.
Shaklee’s owner and CEO, Roger Barnett challenged us to “100 Days to AMAZING”. The objective is to pick something you want to achieve and work at it for 100 days.
I am working towards ‘100 Days to AMAZING’ – being a busy mom, wife, business leader, blogger, home renovation-er (ugh), room mom, and so much more I am often so busy doing something for everyone else that I forget about myself. Don’t get me wrong, I absolute thrive in life to give and to take care of everyone, it’s just my personality, but…in order to be the best me I need to make sure that I don’t lose sight of the visions and plans for my life.
I have so many things that I could “work towards” these 100 days (clean my house/attics, finish our dreaded kitchen renovation, lose weight, be a better wife/mom, grow my business, etc) but at the end of the day I think it really all boils down to my spiritual walk. Dan Buettner, author of The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer From the People Who’ve Lived the Longest spoke at our conference and shared the research that supported people who live the longest are happy people and have a strong spiritual connection. So above all my smaller 100 Day Goals I’m working on my own personal faith walk.
I would like to challenge everyone else to the 100 Days to AWESOME as well. What is one thing you would like to work towards? It can be literally anything!
I think Dr. Shaklee summed it up perfectly…. “Your future will be exactly what you decide to make it” – Dr. Forrest Shaklee
Lets be the positive change our communities and world need!
To kick things off I’m going to re-read Rick Seymour’s book God in Your Goals: Reconciling your spiritual walk with “success” in the world.
I had the privilege to read his book before it was published and I just absolutely fell in love with it! I couldn’t believe how well Rick put into words everything that I know to be important but hardly take enough time in my day to think about it, let alone put into action. Rick shows the importance of setting goals and how God can work through our goals and change us.
I truly love this book and highly HIGHLY recommend it! Rick is one of my all-time favorite speakers. He is a former Rocket Scientist (yes, a real-life Rocket Scientist) who took control of his life and changed his own further and so many others futures. He is hilarious and yet so down to earth. He is amazing at teaching and showing you how easy it is to accomplish things. He truly has a gift and puts everything into perspective in his book. Get your copy today!!
Here’s to the best 100 days yet! Lets become AMAZING together!!
