Soooo….school started yesterday! Preschool that is. I spent all of Labor Day weekend crying 🙁 ha! Yes, I am “that” mom. I am just so sad at how fast my kids are growing up! Seriously, they are going to be graduating high school like tomorrow! Going off to college a million miles away from home, getting married and moving two million miles away from home (of course I do not know anyone who would be this cruel to their parents…except the parents of my children! Lover Boy and I are doomed! Karma is going to suck!)
Anywho…because I’m an avid crafter and just have to be busy all of the time, I made THIS FLAG, which you may remember from the other day:
In that post I showed you how I made the flag but not the post! So today I’m going to tell you what I did:

1) Using a drill and wood screws (preferably self tapping screws), screw the 6×6 to the top of the 4×4 post
3) Using a drill bit drill a hole in the top of the 4×4 according to the size of the screw in your finial
4) Twist in craft finial
6) Attach flag bracket (I bought THIS ONE from Amazon)
I love the way it turned out!! My kids posed for pictures by it for their first day of school!
My flag holder was inspired by a planter post that the girls at Shanty-2-Chic created.
Here are a few other Shanty inspired projects that I’ve made:
My porch swing!!…that has been WAITING to be hung!!
Hope you guys enjoyed these easy builds!! I know I did! I’d love for you to PIN them!!
