After spending the morning and early afternoon at Mabry Mill…
we hopped back on the Parkway and continued heading south.
We then saw this little cutie…and no longer wondered why it was called Groundhog Mountain!
Lover Boy took a ton of awesome artsy fartsy shots of this fence, maybe some that will find their way to prints. This one he focused the color accent on the orange leaves. I love the trees in the distance.
We then descended off of the Parkway to Mount Airy, home of Andy Griffith.
Recognize this guy?!?
Little Finch had fallen down the big hill at Groundhog Mountain and scraped both of her knees. She then begged to be in jammies because they are soft. Being the great mother that I am, I forced her to stand next to this window…can’t you tell that she was so thrilled? She claimed that her knees hurt so bad that she couldn’t stand! (kids! ha)
Cute little town.
We then headed to Mayberry Campground and set up camp.
My cute hubby and little guy hard at work while…
Little Finch and I played! (Notice that her knees are no longer hurting! 🙂 )
This gorgeous farmhouse sat right next to our camping spot. I totally love farmhouses like this. It reminds me of the house that was across the street from my parents growing up.
These awesome purple flowers were in the lot next to his house…anyone know what these are? They were so cool looking!
We then headed back to camp and enjoyed a great fire.
Lover Boy taught Laughing Coyote how to throw sticks into the fire…they know how to make a proud mama! (???)
